The historical film “Winnie”


Actress/singer Jennifer Hudson and her co-star actor Terrence Howard announced their upcoming historical film “Winnie” Saturday (May 15) in Cannes, France at a press conference during the 2010 Cannes Film Festival.
Production for the biopic, based on the life of South African politician Winnie Mandela, kicks off May 31st in Cape Town, Johannesburg and Robben Island, where former South African president Nelson Mandela was held as a prisoner for nearly 20 years. Jennifer will play Winnie and Terrence will play Nelson in the Darrell Roodt-directed film.

Long engagement or not, Jennifer Hudson is getting married, jamani

In fact, she says it's "coming up."

LSZ News Source caught up with her at the Cannes Film Festival where she was promoting her upcoming biopic about Winnie Mandela. Our favorite Dream Girl was looking ravishing in blue as she talked about how much this new film means to her personally.

"I am so excited and so honored and can't wait to get started. We start in the next week and I'm ready to go to Africa for the first time," Hudson said.

She and costar Terrence Howard hadn't met face-to-face to discuss the role until today, but both stated they plan to do some rehearsing before principal photography gets underway.

The actress also gave us an update on her new baby she had with fiancé David Otunga, David Daniel Otunga Jr.

"He's very good. He just turned nine months and he has three teeth now," she said.

And while 20 months may seem like a long time to be engaged, Jennifer said the couple still has every intention of getting married, though she declined to reveal a date for the Big Day.

"It's coming up. Everything's all ready to go," she said.
